Under a new 3-year operations and maintenance (O&M) agreement, Veolia is managing the wastewater treatment plant and sewer system serving the Town of Charlton, Massachusetts.
Under this Public-Private Partnership (PPP), Veolia will manage the .45 million gallon per day (MGD) wastewater treatment plant, 11 sewage pump stations, and 29,400 linear feet of force main, while also providing O&M services to clean 87,000 linear feet of gravity sewer, 9,050 linear feet of low pressure sewer and 180 residential grinder pumps, inspect the town’s manholes, provide septage receiving and sludge disposal and quarterly water meter readings.
As North America’s oldest and largest water and wastewater services provider, Veolia has successfully operated municipal wastewater treatment plants for over four decades and currently manages over 180 municipal wastewater treatment facilities in the U.S. Leveraging this vast experience and expertise, the Veolia team will work hard to ensure environmental compliance, develop a fiscally responsible capital improvement budget, implement regular system maintenance and develop a health and safety and asset protection program to ensure long-term operations success for the Town.
